What I Don’t Buy

There are many millions of 78’s still in existence and most of the inquiries I receive concern the typical household accumulation of mass-produced records that were played at home and on the radio. The 78 RPM records I are buying are those that are scarce, obscure, and sought-after. It is important to note that just because 78’s are “old” doesn’t make them valuable. In fact, most 78’s encountered have little or no value. I do not buy any of the artists listed below unless they are part of a collection or accumulation that does include some of the rare records described elsewhere on this site.

For example, with Louis Armstrong, I do buy his records on the OKeh and Columbia(Black) labels,
or with Jimmie Davis, I do buy his records on the Bluebird and Victor labels.
